Winemaking: Syrah hand picked off mature vines on degraded Basalt soils from Kangaroo Ground - 50% whole bunch ferment and sealed with ‘no touch’ for 20 days then light extraction - 25 days on skins in total. Natural ferment. Pressed to 2yo French puncheons. Minimal sulphur added added prior to bottling. No fining or filtration.

Only 1250 bottles made.

THE WINE FRONT REVIEW: 93 pts

It’s spicy and quite gamey, floral too, with red and black fruit. Medium-bodied, black olive and dried herbs, sundried tomato, fine chalky tannin, balanced acidity, with a spicy savoury finish of good length. It’s in interesting wine, and you have to like them pretty gamey and bloody, though I find this offering kind of compelling.” GARY WALSH
