2022 Limited Release Syrah... 96pts (Halliday Wine Companion) LAST FEW CASES

Winemaking: Syrah hand picked off mature vines on degraded Basalt soils from Kangaroo Ground - 50% whole bunch ferment and sealed with ‘no touch’ for 20 days then light extraction - 25 days on skins in total. Natural ferment. Pressed to 2yo French puncheons. Minimal sulphur added added prior to bottling. No fining or filtration.

Only 1250 bottles made.

“Fruit from Kangaroo Ground with 50/50% whole bunches/berries sealed in a stainless pot for 20 days. Matured in seasoned French hogsheads and puncheons with minimal sulphur added before bottling. A deep and gorgeous crimson purple. Darkly fruited, you'll find aromas of potpourri, exotic spices and a little olive tapenade on the nose. A little licorice root and some violets, too. Medium bodied and beautifully balanced, this finishes long with chewy, fine tannins and very bright acidity. As good a Thick as Thieves wine as I can remember tasting.” PHILIP RICH
